Hydraulic rock SPlitting

When Blasting is not an option due to a rock's proximity to an existing structure other extenuating circumstances a much better solution than traditional hydraulic hammering of the rock, especially if it is very hard rock such as granite or limestone, is Hydraulic Rock Splitting.

The process involves drilling small diameter holes, either with one of our full sized drills or with a hand drill dependent on access to the rock. The splitter is then inserted into the holes and the rock breaking can begin.

Despite is small size, the Darda C12 puts out an amazing 400 tons of splitting force.

The project featured on this page involved the dreaded "Bradywine Blue Granite". The contractor spent 3 weeks hammering on the rock with a tradition Hydrualic Hammer and got next to nowhere. With the Hydraulic Rock Splitter we broke the rock into smaller managable pieces in less than 1 full day. Needless to say they wished they had called much sooner.
